Psalms 119:1-8
"You're blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God. You're blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him. That's right—you don't go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set. You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it. Oh, that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set; Then I'd never have any regrets in comparing my life with your counsel. I thank you for speaking straight from your heart; I learn the pattern of your righteous ways. I'm going to do what you tell me to do; don't ever walk off and leave me. "
This passage of scripture came to life after my friends, Tami and Jessica, were running one of our routes for our marathon training. We had come across a group of ladies that we periodically see up by La Cruz that overlooks Antigua. We spotted them coming up a different road and asked them if it was a private road and was it safe to go back down on. They assured us that it was not a private road and it would take us down to the bottom of the cross. As we continued down it seemed that the road was getting narrower and just didn't feel right. All of a sudden this black dog came out of nowhere and pretty much scared us to death. Tami and I had pepper spray and began to use it to try and scare off this "big beast".......so we thought. Tami is yelling at us, "don't look at him....just keep walking away and don't let him think you are scared." Well, between me and Jessica we were screaming like "girls". Jessica was huddled close behind me as she didn't have pepper spray.
So the moral of this story......"That's right—you don't go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set. You, God, prescribed the right way to live;"
