- December 18th, Amber totally surprised Mike and I by coming for Christmas. We had been telling all of our friends that we were going to be alone this year for the first time without kids. They all knew that she was coming and had to keep it a secret for over a month. It was a great time for all of us!
- January 6th, Alejandra was given her visa/residency! Matt had already been in the states for a couple of months. His plan was to come back to Guatemala on Feb. 25th and get her but decided that was too long. So on Feb. 2nd she made the trip by herself into Fort Lauderdale, FL. being met by Matt, Amber and her friend Ben. After being in Florida for about 6 weeks, they will be moving to Colorado on March 23rd and setting up home.
- It's been my dream to do a Marathon in the states. I have completed one in Guatemala and I wanted to see what it was like, so on January 25th I participated in ING Miami Marathon. It was AWESOME! Over 15,000 runners from all over the country gathered together at 5:00 a.m.! It was a lifetime experience.
- Last week, my friend, Jessica and I attended a Women's conference in Buena Vista, CO. The main emphasis was on the book, "Captivating, Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul" by Stasi Eldredge. Her husband, John Eldredge wrote the book "Wild at Heart" for the men. The conference was held at Frontier Ranch nestled in the mountains of Colorado. It was a great time of reflection and rest.
Life is full and rich here in Guatemala. In this calendar year, there are 18 mission teams scheduled to come to Antigua. We have a very busy year but good one in front of us. God is good and we give HIM the praise!!!!
